UAMS Northwest’s Office Community Health and Research, with funding from the Walmart Foundation, is partnering with the Arkansas Community Foundation to support coordinated food insecurity response and relief in Northwest Arkansas (Benton, Carroll, Madison, and Washington counties) due to COVID-19 illness, job loss, school closures, and social distancing. UAMS is reaching out to community organizations to understand their current needs related to sustaining and growing food outreach programs during this time, collecting and disseminating information via a weekly newsletter, and providing financial resources where needed.
